Propark to sponsor food and coat drives in Connecticut

Hartford, Connecticut - Hartford-based parking management company Propark America has announced that it will sponsor a food and coat charity drive in Hartford, New Haven and at numerous other Propark facilities throughout Connecticut.

"This drive is part of Propark's 'Good Carma' initiative," explained Joe Coppola, Propark managing partner. "We feel that by doing good things for good people, good things happen as a result. The cold weather is right around the corner, so we decided that we wanted to do something to help the people of Connecticut, especially with the holiday season approaching."

Propark will provide drop boxes at the exit lanes of all participating locations from November 6 to November 10. Patrons of the parking facilities are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and canned goods, as well as winter coats and other cold weather apparel. All donations will be distributed to local charitable organizations, such as the Connecticut Food Bank, The Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, Foodshare and Center City Churches, to be given to needy people in the area.

"In Connecticut alone, we park thousands of cars on a daily basis," continued Coppola. "With so many conveniently accessible Propark locations across the state, it made a lot of sense to embark on something like this. Our facilities serve as natural drop-off points for charitable food and coat donations. Since they are so conveniently located, we'd like to encourage non-Propark customers to donate as well."
