FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 10/12/2006 Media Contact: Dennis Safford at 860.527.2378 Propark to sponsor food and coat drives in Springfield Springfield, Massachusetts -- Springfield-based parking management company Propark America has announced that it will sponsor two separate charity drives at all Propark and Springfield Parking Authority facilities, including a food drive during the first week of November, followed by a coat drive the following week. "These initiatives are part of Propark's 'Good Carma' program," explained John Schmid, Propark managing partner. "We believe that if you do good things, good things happen to you in return; that's what 'Carma' is about. With winter and the holidays right around the corner, this is the time of year where a real difference can be made, and we want to be a part of making a positive impact in Springfield." Propark will provide drop boxes at the exit lanes of all Springfield Parking Authority and Propark locations in Springfield. Patrons of the parking facilities are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and canned goods. All donations will be distributed to local charitable organizations, such as the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and the Springfield Rescue Mission, to be given to needy people in the greater Springfield area. "We park thousands upon thousands of cars each day in Springfield," continued Schmid. "If each one of our parking patrons were to donate a few food items or a winter coat, we can help to make a real change in the lives of people who need assistance during the upcoming winter holiday season." Propark is one of the nation's leading parking companies, providing full and limited service parking solutions for office buildings, retail centers, airports, medical centers, universities, municipal facilities, residential buildings and hotels.
