I don’t work directly with Tawana, but rather came across her in the course o “’my daily life”. After hearing this follow up story from a friend, I couldn’t resist submitting a nomination because she deserves to be recognized for the great employee she is to Propark :)!

Propark operates the TD Bank Lot in downtown Springfield, MA, which is where I park to go to my dentist and where Tawana works. As I was leaving my dentist appointment today, I texted my best friend, who works at my dentist, and she told me how much she appreciates the Propark employee who works the lot that she parks in when visiting that Baystate Dental branch. As I was driving out, I noticed the same thing–Tawana was as courteous and friendly to me as I was driving out as I am sure she was to the first person she encountered today. You could just tell she was one of those special people who makes others smile over such a simple interaction as handing over your ticket and her lifting the gate. I left with a smile on my face, especially after she wished me a nice rest of my day with such genuine caring that I couldn’t help but feel happier then when I drove in!

I followed up with my friend Melissa, and she told me something else that made me even more happy that Tawana works for Propark. She was recently nominated for a Western Mass Hospitality award! Tawana is 1 of 4 finalists in the “Transportation” Division, and 1 of the 58 total finalists in the area for a 2023 Howdy Award for Hospitality Excellence as announced by the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (GSCVB). Melissa’s text to me read: “I was leaving that lot 2 weeks ago when the car in front of me presented her with it (her Howdy Award nomination). She was crying when I pulled up, and I asked if she was okay. She told me she got nominated for this award and was so excited because she has never got an award in her life!”

It’s such a joy to work for a company that inspires such emotion and happiness as a result of a job well done, and I know just how a little recognition of that great job can go a long way. So, I wanted to make sure that Tawana knows how appreciated and valued she is both as a team member internally at Propark, as well as a bright spot in people’s day in downtown Springfield. She is certainly a Propark Rock Star and needs to be recognized for her amazing dedication to being one 🙂
Keep up the good work Tawana, and I look forward to saying HOWDY next time I visit my dentist! (Though, that may be the only part I look forward to about going to the dentist! 😉
