Hartford, Connecticut – Propark Mobility announced today that David Schmid will become the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1, 2023.

“It brings me great joy to pass the baton of CEO to David Schmid, an integral member of the Propark family for over 30 years,” said John Schmid, Propark’s Executive Chairman. “David’s journey began as a beach parking lot attendant in Rhode Island while still in college, and he has diligently worked to move this company forward, contributing immensely as COO and CIO.”

David, who most recently served as Chief Investment Officer, brings a tremendous depth of knowledge and experience to his position as CEO. Throughout his tenure with Propark, David has led mergers and acquisitions, as well as the development of Propark’s proprietary Cloudpark Technology. He has also overseen Propark’s real estate division and its thriving mobility and transportation divisions. In every role, David has demonstrated a leadership style rooted in positive energy and an innovative vision for the parking industry.

David succeeds John Schmid, who will remain at Propark as the company’s Executive Chairman. John founded Propark in 1984 with his business partner, Joe Coppola. The company began with a 60-space parking lot in Hartford, Connecticut – the site of its national headquarters – and has grown its nationwide presence over the last four decades, now operating over 750 locations in more than 100 cities.
