David Schmid
As CEO of Propark Mobility, David brings over 30 years of experience in the parking industry. His expertise has been integral in leading the company’s national operations, spanning 30 states, 250 cities, and more than 1,000 locations, with a team of over 7,000 employees.
Throughout his tenure, David has played an integral role in the company’s evolution from a small regional parking management company to a leading national parking management firm. Before becoming CEO, he held other key positions within Propark, including CFO, COO and, most recently, Chief Investment Officer.
David has led over $500MM in Parking Real Estate acquisitions and divestitures and has underwritten a wide variety of segments of the parking market to include parking facilities, associated municipalities, hotels, hospitals, court houses, airports, office towers, central business districts, residential properties, transportation facilities, casinos, and stadiums. These properties have been part of both a programmatic and opportunistic approach to parking asset acquisition.
Parking Facilities represent a key convergence point in the movement towards sustainable urban mobility. One of the main aspects of this sustainability platform includes Electric Vehicle Charging infrastructure, an area where David has been a leading innovator and implementer.
In addition to sustainability, David has spent the last several years focusing on Parking Company Mergers & Acquisitions, Remote Facility Management, and Parking Technology, becoming a thought leader on the parking facility of the future.
David believes that Propark’s family-style culture is one of its greatest assets, benefiting team members, customers, clients, and future parking brands it acquires. In his approach to business and acquisitions, David treats a company’s team members as family and its clients as friends. Therefore, he prioritizes the well-being of the acquired company’s team and clients during the acquisition process. This commitment ensures that the founder’s team and their relationships remain the central focus as their life’s work transitions into Propark’s stewardship.
